I'm am another Norwegian Seinfeld-fan, and I'm watching it every Thursday. I've started to collect samples, quotes and pictures from the gang, and I plan to make them all available through World Wide Web (WWW).
For those of you who use Mosiac or another viewer, the connection is:
http://www.ifi.uio.no/~rubens/seinfeld/index.html
Here, you can choose between sounds and samples, pictures and quotes. Just click your way through the system, and Mosiac will (if configured right) spawn the necessary viewers or players.
Right now I have 19 samples and 13 pictures. To expand this library, I need _your_ help. If you have any samples or pictures, or know where to find some, please contact me by e-mail:
Whether you're using Mosaic or not, on any of the "info-mac" ftp sites there are available 8 samples of the various Seinfeld bass riffs that are played at the open and close of scenes, segues into commercials, etc. The samples are quite excellent, sampled at 22-kHz I believe, which is actually like putting perfume on a pig when it comes to playing it on my shitty little Mac speaker. In that case, one can use "SndConverter Pro" (shareware available at info-mac) to down-sample the file to 11-kHz and save some hard drive space.
The "info-mac" ftp sites are (by definition) mirrors of the "sumex-aim.stanford.edu" macintosh archive out of Stanford Univ. Don't try connecting to Stanford, however, because everyone else does and if it's not bogged down to a slow trickle, it's because it's already ground to a complete halt. I suggest using either gopher or ftp (Mosaic, of course, supports these already) to access "info-mac" at gopher.lcs.mit.edu. Start at the root directory "/" and follow your nose, a little snooping around never hurt anyone, and I think everyone will be impressed at all the myriad of goodies that are available.
In terms of a URL, I suggest starting at the MIT Computer Science Gopher:
gopher://catfish.lcs.mit.edu/h0/web-page
If you're a MacPerson, the "info-mac" archive & its mirrors, as well as the
"MERIT" archive (Univ. of Michigan) & its mirrors are the worldwide
clearinghouses for Macintosh shareware.

Can a pointer to the FAQ and pointer to the archive site be added to this? This site has the "Episode Guide up to the 8th of August, 1992". Is there an updated guide?
