Please stop the comparison. It's way too, "Look, we're hard core fans. We're special. If you didn't like the finale, you must be a casual viewer".
You're not getting it. You can make the play either way. Some liked it, some hated it, some were disappointed, some were lukewarm. It has nothing to do with whether you're a hardcore fan or not.
