Fans help identify which episode features Elaine's "dingo ate your baby" line, with some confusion before correctly pinpointing it to The Hamptons.

Does anyone know what the name of the episode is of "Seinfeld" where Elaine says "Maybe the dingo ate your baby" to a snooty party guest??? No-one seems to be able to give me an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone out there know from which episode of "Seinfeld" this classic Elaine quote comes from? This is a line from a Meryl Streep movie "Evil Angels". Any help would be much appreciated!

I believe this quote came from the episode entitled "The Hamptons." This is the episode where Jerry, Elaine, and Kramer see Georges girlfriend topless. It is also the episode with the famous "shrinkage" scenes. A subplot of this episode is that the Hamptons have just had a new baby. They keep telling elaine, "elaine, you've got to come see the bay-bee." Elaine says "Maybe the dingo ate your bay-bee!" I hope i have the episode correct.

correct absolutely correct.. the baby in question..was actually a womans Fiance'. She kept referring to him as her baby.. I do not recall the episode name.. i know very few of them by heart...

The Streep movie was called "A Cry in the Dark" though I suppose it might have been released with a different title outside the U.S.

The episode is an early one where Jerry and Elaine go all the way across town with George to a party with all of Georges coworkers. Jerry and Elaine end up not knowing anyone. This is when they give each other a signal ( tapping on the head ) for the other to save then from a boaring conversation. Elaine is taliking to a women who is looking for her fiencie, and she is saying it really weird. It was around this time that the comment came out. George ended up leaving with a girl from the office and Jerry and Elaine hade to wait all night for Kramer to pick them up.

By the way, I used to have a wav file of that comment and could recover it if you would like me to send it to you.
