Jaw-dropping selfishness

What does everyone think was the most heinous act of perversion or "jaw-dropping selfishness" (as the TV Guide edition said) that Jerry, Elaine, George or Kramer ever did? ie, George mixing lobster into Jerry's kosher girlfriend's omelet because she told Jane about George's shrinkage, or Jerry claiming not to know his girlfriend so he didn't get kicked out of the Soup Nazi store. Also, in what order were they on the selfishness scale (#1 being most selfish). I say #1 Jerry, #2 George, #3 Elaine, #4 Kramer.

how bout george unplugging the i.v. from the guy he was competing for.

There are so many from which to choose. What about Elaine and Jerry plotting so fiendishly to break up a married couple. If that weren't bad enough, both of them attempt to physically restrain from trying to save the marriage! Since when is George the moral piller in this group?

One of my favorites is when Jerry talks Seth into blowing off his important meeting, gets him fired and then won't lend the poor guy the paper because Jerry still hasn't read Tank McNamara yet. Talk about selfish.

Of course, there's Elaine handing out napkins in Monk's to the Bubble Boy's father and Jerry. Jerry uses his to wipe his mouth rather than to dry any tears (or "salty discharge" as he later describes it).

Let's not forget Elaine not returning Jerry's mail which had Babu's visa renewal form and led to his deportation. Elaine's infamous JuJi Fruit pit stop when learning Jake had been in an accident. Elaine bringing "The sidler" to Jerry's gildfriend's house so she could get him some 20 years old gum. Yes, Jerry and George also drugged the same woman, but Elaine didn't even know her and did this on her own.

Sorry. I just remembered another one. How about Jerry and Kramer defacing Fredo's (their neighbor's dead pet parrot) so Jerry can get Kramer's safe deposit box key out of him? It doesn't help that his doing this at night, in a tuxedo and yell's out "Let's cut Fredo open!" just as his neighbors walk up behind him.

This may even top bragging about the non-existent (but still very missed and newley-departed) Suze about Jerry says he slept with. He also list among his conquests, sleeping with Elaine and breaking Mike Mofita's thumbs just to impress Peggy - At a funeral, no less!

Didn't Elaine sleep with the guy from the adoption agency just so her friends would get a child? And how was she thanked? They split up.

That was one of the greatest lines in the history of the show. I remember my reaction the first time I'd seen that episode, and heard that line. My mouth dropped open in a big stupid grin and I was shaking my head back and forth slowly, saying, "i can't believe I just heard that." Sheer delight.

He just wanted to show Elaine that he wasn't particularly "moved" by the plight of the bubble boy.

Now hold it right there. Elaine did not know there was a visa renewal application in there. Blame the US Postal service for that screw up, not Elaine and Jerry. I can't help thinking how a decent cross examination during the finale would probably have gotten the gang off with a warning at most. I'm thinking of e-mailing the "courtroom transcript" to a lawyer friend and asking him what sort of defense he would have put together.

But... the counter... was right there. :)

What about right after Susan's death ? The gang meets George over at the hospital, where George gets the tragic news. But did anyone of them really care? George even makes another attempt at Marisa Tomei after this in the same episode ("The Invitations"). And a similar thing happened in "The summer of George".

Jerry not telling his girlfriend that her toothbrush fell in the toilet, and then refusing to kiss her. (I'd probably be the same way, but then again, I've been known to be "jaw-droppingly selfish." )

how about George parking in a handicap spot and Kramer getting that woman a used wheelchair...

Estelle is in the hospital and pleads with George to get her something to eat. But George doesn't want to leave the hospital room until he can see the silhouette of the attractive female in the next bed as she gets her sponge bath, so he throws Estelle a box of tic-tacs.
