Just heard the latest Politically Correct retreat in American society. Crayola Crayons is changing the name of one of their colours due to complaints from native americans. The colour is called Indian Red. They take offense to that. However, the name refers to a long standing name of a paint pigment that comes from the country India, hence it has always been called Indian Red. It has nothing to do with American Indians. But like Jerry not being able to say he made 'reservations' at the restaurant, our language must change. It truly is part of the dumbing-down of america.
They describe two other colour name changes: They renamed Prussian Blue to Midnight Blue because Americans did not know what Prussia was. Now that's dumb! Cave to the lowest level. And, another time, quite correctly in this case I believe, they changed Flesh to Peach because not everyone's skin colour is that colour.
