"A Room with a view" scene in Seinfeld

I just saw an episode of Seinfeld yesterday (on Norwegian television), where Elaine has dates with a conductor who wishes to be called "maestro".

SPOILER ALERT

In the end of this episode, there is a scene taken from the movie "A room with a view" - where Elaine and "maestro" are sitting in a window looking out on Tuscany (Italy), and with music from Puccini's Gianni Schicci (or something like that) is playing in the background (just as in the movie). Can anyone confirm that I am not imagining things here? Do Seinfeld often copy scenes from movies? And: does anyone have more information on the episode etc?

Are these FAQs? If so, I apologize. Please answer me by mail, I will post a summary to the group.

	Yep. I remember Midnight Cowboy, Edward Scissorhands, and Schindler's List
(wherein Judge Reinhold acted like Otto Schindler about Jerry's parents,
especially the speech at the end).  There's also numerous film noir
references, when Elaine and Jerry try to lie about the couch being stolen from
Mr. Pitts building and when George and Jerry attempt "the switch."  Didn't
they also do a bit on JFK with Keith Hernandez, who supposedly spit on Newman
and Kramer?
	George, and his line "You can't handle the truth!" from "A Few Good Men."
	In "the pick," Jerry's speech was a parody of "The Elelphant Man" (I am not
an animal!)  Was Elaine's (the nipple is on your soul!) from the same film, or
something else.
	And of course, Superman was referred to in "the Race."  The only show with
more pop references is The Simpsons, who,  have to admit, do it better than
anyone.  My favorite is their take on "the Treasure of the Sierra Madre" using
the 1st issue of Radioactive Man instead of gold..

I thought it was a takeoff of Nixon (another President) leaving office

Okay, okay, okay - I made a fool out of myself. I admit that I have seen lots of episodes, and that this was the first time I noticed a scene from a movie... let me hear about more of them!

Movie scenes on Seinfeld:

In the one hour special with that baseball player, they did a whole story line which imitated JFK: the courtroom scene w/ Jerry acting as Garrison and denouncing the magic bullet (loogie) theory, the shot from the grassy knoll scene (gravely road), etc. and VERY FUNNY!

Can't think of any others right now, but they are usually very current to the time, or are some bizarre references only a few people catch.

Also, the movies that they all go to usually have variations on the names of real movies.

I just remembered another movie scene:

When Elaine and Kramer go to Newman for a favor, they act out a scene from the Godfather, with Newman being Brando.

Elaine, loopy on pain medicine started saying to a woman at a party:

"Maybe a dingo ate your baby." And I think went through a whole scene from a cry in the dark w/ an accent.

Just because one of the friend didn't like the dad's new cadillac and try to alllege that he had dipped into the corporate ink to buy the Cadillac. He would have got voted in if Jerry wasn't there to remind the key lady to vetoed it. ( on pre episode Jerry had mugged the lady's marble rye to gave it to George's future in law.)
