I have been cooking over this one ever since the Costanzas met Susan's parents in the 11th episode of the 7th series. Is it just me, or have we already met Susan's parents? In Episode 46 (The Cheever Letters, OAD:October 28, 1992, Teleplay by Larry David, Story by Larry David&Elaine Pope&Tom Leoplold, Directed by Tom Cherones) we were introduced to Susan's parents. Susan's father was played by Warren Frost, and her mother was played by Grace Zabriskie. In this episode, letters were discovered (as the result of the Cabin burning down [see episode 45, 'The Bubble Boy']) that suggested a romance between Susan's father and bisexual novelist, John Cheever. More than 3 years later, on January 4, 1996, an episode called 'The Rye' aired. Susan's parents were notably not the same; not even living in the same house. Did Susan divorce her parents? Is this bad work of the continuity people? Am I picking unneccessary holes? Does anyone care? I think when you are making such a 'respectable', high-budgeted sit-com such as Seinfeld, you can't get away with that crap. Did anyone else notice this occurence?

Fans debate whether Susan's parents were recast between "The Cheever Letters" and "The Rye," with most disagreeing that the actors changed or dismissing continuity concerns.
They looked like the same people to me.
When George first started dating Susan (when Kramer burned down her cabin) Susan's parents were two different people. It also came out that Susan's father had a homosexual affair. This was never mentioned once Susan became George's fiancee.

I do beleive you're wrong on the first part. Susan's parents were the same. Some questioned the actor who played the dad. But the newsgroup came to the conclusion that the same actor (now with a beard) played the part.
