A comprehensive poll from March 1994 ranks favorite Seinfeld episodes with 'The Contest' overwhelmingly winning, followed by 'The Boyfriend' and 'The Outing'.

I would like to thank all of those who participated in this poll. I took some time to tabulate the results, but I did it.

This is how the votes were tabulated.
   #1 = 5 points
   #2 = 4 points
   #3 = 3 points
   #4 = 2 points
   #5 = 1 point

The following list of episodes was based on the number of POINTS that the episode received. However, where there was a tie in POINTS, I broke the tie based on the number of actual votes that the episode received. (The actual vote count will be in brackets next to the POINTS count. I included both because based on the respondents comments (i.e. it's really hard to decide...) ).

Those were the only 49 episodes chosen from 78 episodes. The landslide victory of THE CONTEST was not surprising. It was one of the most talked about shows in TV in last number of years. People seemed to remember THE BOYFRIEND awful well when it came to voting. Surely the JKF scene had something to do with that. THE OUTING placed third. A good finish for an episode that had, perhaps, the funniest SEINFELD scene ever: -the slow realisation by George that he could hear what Jerry said on the other line...CLASSIC. Rounding off the top 5 was THE PARKING GARAGE. These theme shows did very well in this poll. They seemed to be the ones that people remembered because of their laser like focus on one event. Those who voted for the this episode will no doubt remeber Jerry's unfortunate medical condition--UROMYSITISIS. (I wonder why George didn't use the same bogus excuse at the Health Club...)

The Descriptions:
THE CONTEST: George's mother cashes him masterbating.  A compertion to
(49)         see who can forgo self-abuse longest is complicated by
             Jerry's sex-free relationship with Marla, Elaine's
             flirtation with John F. Kennedy Jr., and a female nudist
             across the street.  Kramer drops out first, followed by
             Elaine.  Jerry and george succumb simultaniously.
             Disgusted by the whole affair, Marla leaves Jerry for
             JFK Jr.
THE BOYFRIEND: Jerry meets former New York Met Keith Hernandez, who asks
(34)           Elaine out on a date.  Kramer and Newman accuse Hernandez
               of having spat on them five years earlier, but the real
               offender was revealed to be ex-Met Roger McDowell.  In an
               attempt to get his bebefits extended, George dates his
               unemployment officer's plain daughter.  Jerry and Kramer
               visit a married couple's baby.
THE OUTING: NYU reporter Sharon Leonard overhears a conversation in
(55)        which Elaine jokes that Jerry and George are lovers.  Jerry
            struggles to rectify this impression after Leonard writes a
            story "outing" them.  George unsucessfuly tries to use the
            article to scare off his clinging girlfriend, Allison.
THE JUNIOR: Jerry an Kramer fumble with a piece of candy and end up
 MINT (58)  performing an unexplained assist as they observe Elaine's
            ex-boyfriend Roy's splenectomy from the operating room
            balcony.  Jerry racks his brains to remember the name of the
            women he's dating, but she walks out on him before he can
            come up with it.
THE PARKING: Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer search for Kramer's lost
GARAGE (23)  car in a New Jersey mall garage.  Kramer is carrying an air
             conditioner, Elaine has two goldfish in a plastic bag, and
             Jerry and George are both arrested for urinating in public.

Could someone post a breif description of all these winning Seinfeld episodes as in being from Australia, we get screwed around with this, so descriptions would be very handy (except the contest, everyone remembers this one).
