Did anyone see the soup guy (that the Soup Nazi character was based on) on the Today show this morning?(3/27) Al Roker (from the TV Guide cover) was interviewing him. The soup guy said things like........ "That clown (jerry) made a fool out of me.....I will be glad when he's off the air..." haha, bitter? NEXT!!!

Yeah, I saw it...I often wonder why he's so pissed off at Jerry when Jerry has probably caused thousands of people to add the Soup place to their New York tours. If I had a business like that and somebody promoted my place on TV, DAMN, I'd be forever thankful. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS GUY???

Ungrateful bastard. I watched part of his appearance on the shopping channel last night. (Only caught a few minutes, as it was up against the syndicated Seinfeld episode. Coincidence??)
For starters, he hasn't quite mastered the English language so he was somewhat difficult to understand. All he taked about was how he puts his heart and soul into his soup and how the home shopping club gave him the opportunity to bring his soup to the rest of the world. (sounded like a religious crackpot to me.). The host was very careful about calling him the "Soup Man" and made references to the "TV show that helped his business" which made the soup Nazi cringe. The host mentioned Seinfeld by name once, and the soup Nazi asked him not to use the 'S' word again. (Can you believe this guy?). The host kept asking how long the line got, and the Nazi kept replying how he doesn't know because he's inside and the line's outside. They then gave out bowls to the crew who proceded to make yummy noises for a minute or two, then I switched back to the rest of Seinfeld. ------------------------------------------ [email] (Hammer nail here--> <-- for a new monitor.)

I have never met Al Yageneh, although my wife just ordered his products from Home Shopping Network. Surely he isn't the only person in the world who would find being called a ``Nazi,'' even if humorously intended, inflammatory. I got a huge kick out of the episode, but would have been happier if he had been called ``the soup tyrant'' or some other more neutral term.
During his HSN appearance he pointed out, as best he could given the language barrier, that his business was already doing quite well, thanks partly to favorable reviews in restaurant columns, before his ``appearance'' on Seinfeld.
We didn't think the crew looked like they were enjoying it too much. And where was the Mulligatawny? The Bisque? Sheesh!
He really ought to learn the English language before he makes TV appearances.
And one more thing to pick on, who wants to buy soup now? He should have sold it in the winter time. Doesn't he know the seasons either?? I do not like that Soup Nazi! I think he'd probably charge me extra for bread too.
