Censored episodes

I am a big fan of Seinfeld and have been watching every rerun on any Scandinavian channel.

Until it comes out on DVD, I thought I download some episodes from the net. They are recorded from American TV and seems to be censored.

All the "bad" words are either beeped or cut out. The worse example is episode 115 "The Hot Tub" which is not funny at all with all the censoring.

Is this how they have been aired on TV in USA or have I just downloaded the wrong versions?

I hope they are uncensored on DVD...

i think they have all been censored here in the USA. Do they actually play the bad words in Scandinavia?

Yes, and unlike many other European countries, we get movies/TV-shows in their orginal languages and not dubbed.

What is your definition of bad words? The only episode I can recall with bad words is the Non-fat Yogurt with the swearing kid, and there's the one with Miss Rhode Island where a car horn beeps out Jerry's swear word (which is humour, not the sensor).

What is so bad about the Hot Tub? Please, I need examples, this is driving me insane!

In "The Hot Tub" George says "bastards" many times and that has been cut from the episode I downloaded, which I find strange.

There seem to be two versions of Seinfeld around - the normal 'uncensored' one for evening transmission and the censored one that Paramount Comedy shows (at least here in the UK) because the transmission is during the day.

Although there wasn't really any bad swearing in the show words such as 'bastard' are faded out and it sounds like an audio fault. Very annoying! Paramount show the censored version during the day and the normal one at night. Inevitably they get them mixed up and often the censored one goes out at night too.
