David Puddy is an annoying little habit

David Puddy is getting annoying. Why don't they just get rid of him? I'm wondering, what's up with his eyes, because he's always squinting. Anyhow, I think they've really over used this character.

The only good thing he ever did was when he scared the hell out of a priest when he painted his face for the Devils game, and when he used Jerry's move.

Otherwise he has been quite useless.

I think the raison d' etre for the Puddy character is simply to show how shallow Elaine is. On the bathing show, when Kramer calls him, Puddy is sitting on his couch staring straight ahead as he did on the plane rfrom Europe, not thinking of anything. It's like his brain is off when he's not talking. Ansd yet Elaine can't break up with him.

Some day you'll here this dialog: Puddy: "Elaine, face it. You can't live without me. Let's get married." Elaine: "Oh, that's silly Puddy! Silly Puddy! Ha Ha Ha Ha!" (she doubles over in laughter) Elaine again: "Okay, Let's DO IT!"

His squinting is meant to imply deep thoughts which are obviously foreign to his character. I think the actor is great at comedy.

I too, LOVE THE PUDDY!! He's perfect and he's hilarious. Everyone on Seinfeld is always wisecracking and they're all so smart ass and here's this perfect counter, a former "germaholic", a mechanical genius, a body painter, I mean the guy is amazingly complex and he's perfect for Elaine. I see marriage in their future. And Elaine whining about her biological clock and hoping for litte Puddys. hahahahaha

Puddy was funny in his original appearances but his breakup/backslide thing with Elaine this season was getting so tiresome that I would groan whenever he appeared. Finally, in "The Apology" he was funny again, since he had something to do other than be a prop for Elaine's breakups. I love his dry thickheaded delivery.

I only liked 2 things in the episode:

1. Puddy sitting on the couch, staring into space, right before Elaine calls him. Nice tie in to staring into space on the airplane home with Elaine ("Vegetable Lasagna").

2. Jerry's line about the fat man catching a cannonball with his stomach.
