What is it?

In the first episode where Art Vandelay was mentioned, didn't he first start with Art Corvalet, or something like that?

"Art Core...valey".

Then it sort of morphed into the legendary Art Vandelay.

George made this same concession when working with Elaine on the lie they would tell Susan so george could see marisa Tomei. I think it happened in another episode as well. George always wants Art to be an Importer.

Art Vandelay is a name that George uses whenever he needs a fake name for some purpose. It is George's name in the sense that he is the one who employs it.
