syndication question

are the episodes from the 8th season in syndication? if not, does anyone have a clue as to when they will?

It means "being shown in re-runs."   They are sold as a package to individual
stations, not networks, for them to show regularly, for ex., every weeknight.
I'm in Syracuse, and the local FOX affiliate shows reruns at 7:30, while in
another city, the CBS or NBC affiliate may be showing the same episode at
11:30.   Syndicated programs are run on the same schedule regardless of the
station or time.  In other words, everyone watching re-runs this week are
seeing episodes #1-6, minus # 4 which was shown Saturday.

This isn't exactly always true. Stations purchasing *most* shows in syndication are free to air them as they see fit. Shows like "Seinfeld," which does dictate what shows airs when, are more of the exception than the norm.

Yes, the 8th season is in syndication. Only the current (9th) season is not yet syndicated.
