Foreshadowing in "The Burning"

For some reason, I didn't notice it the first time I watched it, but in "The Burning" there were 2 references to the show's end: 1) Jerry telling George that to demonstrate good showmanship that you should leave on a high note, leave 'em wanting more. A definite reference to Jerry's decision to end the show.

2) Kramer's disgust at being asked to act out gonorrhea again. He said "I am being typecast". How true it is. Can anyone really imagine seeing M. Richards playing another character without it reminding you of Kramer?

Any thoughts on these observations?

This kind of humor seemed to be a trademark of the 1997-98 season, right from the season opener, with that weak bit about Bania being a "time slot wonder" who benefited from Jerry's strong lead-in, a la "Veronica's Closet," "Suddenly Susan," and "Caroline In The City."
