So I saw the 3-part syndicated version of this show, and man, you can really tell the difference in writing in this episode compared to the later seasons. The humor on the Kramer L.A. plotline was a lot more character-based and subtle. George was REALLY neurotic back then wasn't he? Almost reminded me of the Libby Wolfson character from SCTV. Of course, the later years, which was more absurdist in their humor still made me laugh and I thought were equally great for different reasons, but I am pretty sure stuff like this subtle character humor is a lot harder to write and it takes better acting to pull that kind of humor off.
Kramer goes to L.A.

Justin, That is the genius of Larry David! Did you notice the subtle thread about "tipping" in the episode? There was a Curb Your Enthusiasm about Larry tipping for Christmas, which must be one of his neurotic quirks.
