They started showing the 8th season on Norwegian television yesterday, "The Foundation", and Elaine is eagerly sucking a cigar after having completed the J. Peterman catalogue.
Elaine smoking?? Isn't that weird? I thought Elaine was supposed to be a very much anti-smoke person, remember the episode where she is furious about the pregnant psychic that was smoking (what was the name of that episode again..?).

Cigar smoke is very different cigarette smoke. For one, most people do not inhale cigar smoke when they smoke cigars. Also, many people like the smell of cigar smoke but hate the smell of cigarette smoke. Vice versa is true as well, but the ratio is different.
Personally I love the smell of pipe smoke.

Issue already discussed and answered hypothetically -- has to do with the difference between cigar/pipe smoke and cigarette smoke. Some people see a huge difference between the two, to be brief.
She may be against smoking..yet still enjoy a cigar once in a while...it does not make her a smoker.
