I like any time Kramer tells someone to "be realistic" or "wake up to reality." Michael once said that he really got Kramer about eight or nine shows in - he had been playing Kramer like he was a little behind everyone, and when he started playing Kramer like he was blocks ahead of everyone else, he had him.

Actually, I believe he said when he first started (I remember it sounding a little more than 8 or 9 shows) he played Kramer like he was one step behind everyone. And later on, he played himone step ahead of everyone. I can always pick out when he's playing him ahead of everyone. He just... acts like he knows something that nobody else does.

Tonight (Tues) I thoroughly enjoyed an episode that hadnt really struck me the first time. I especially loved Kramer confronting the sugar junkie he had weaned from his bad habit. What I love about Kramer is HOW he says things. That's why it's hard to pick a phrase. The guy is truly a genius.

Also been thinking about my impression of the real Kramer from a very short experience of him on TV during the period when the show was ending. i was struck by how Kramer the actor turns someone I dont think I would ahve liked into someone I adore. He ads something, not sure what it is. A quirky kind of innocence? Idealism? One of my favorite scenes is the one he does with Bette Midler. She is at her best in that show to. I guess it was the Understudy. Practically everything he says is my favorite Kramerism

Jerry was never given many chances to display his ohysical comedy talents, so when scenes like that do show up, they all the more special. I can imagine that when they came up with the idea of having Jerry do a Kramer impersonation, Jerry was probably very enthusiastic.

Remember the scene in "The Gum" where Jerry puts on the coke-bottle glasses and tries to "fell his way" around the theater? That was another chance for Jerry to perform physical comedy, and he made it one of the best scenes in that episode.

But then, that was also the same episode where Julia lost her blouse
button and we all got to experience her wonderful cleavage, so Jerry's
stand-out scene just got lost. :)
