Well, the talk about Jerry's old standup on Comedy Central made me remember the first time I saw him. Was at a little place called Westbury Music Fair. (Those of you in the NYC area have heard of it, I'm sure.) Seats about 2200. My parents were in the "Inner Circle" club at the time, so they got front row seats for all the shows they wanted. So, while they went to a lot of Paul Anka and Johnny Mathis, I saw the comedy shows. (Gallagher, George Carlin, Howie Mandel, etc.) Jerry wasn't even headlining. He was opening for...are you ready for this... Yaakov Smirnov! Boy, times have changed, eh?
I don't remember most of the show, although I do remember he did his "hair on the shower wall" routine which cracked me up.
