Fans question whether Russell Dalrymple's apparent drowning in The Pilot episode was resolved in subsequent episodes, with consensus that the show left the storyline unresolved.

I don't know if I have missed some episodes, but in "The Pilot" episodes, the NBC president(his name escapes me-but he is short, bearded, weedy with glasses and has a crush on Elaine) tries to impress Elaine by joining Greenpeace. He then drowns at the end of the episode. Was there a follow up to this scene? Did he drown? and did Elaine ever find out what happened to him?

It's one of those cases where we don't see the outcome or any following to the story. The whole series has many of these cases. "It's a mystery, wrapped in a riddle."

I just wonder if it is a jab at the network that rejected "Seinfeld" as you see a file with "Jerry" -the script of "The Pilot"- floating into the distance. Whatever happened to the woman that rejected "Seinfeld".
