I wanna see an episode where Jerry finally uses that damn PC, gets himself on the Internet, discovers that there's a newsgroup devoted to him (I mean, he is a 'minor celebrity' in the show, right?) Plenty of standup comedians have newsgroups these days. Think of the possibilities!!

Yeah, you could get something like this:
Jerry has some hot material he plans to use on The Tonight Show, but before he has a chance to go on, he's playing around with his computer and discovers this group. One of the regular posters criticises Jerry's old material and offers how it could've been better -- thereby posting by coincidence the very material Jerry plans to use. Or, more in tune with reality, Jerry inadvertently uses something that was posted earlier and the people in the group are convinced Jerry read the group earlier and stole it from them.

I like it! Or it can be taken even further and Jerry can begin getting ALL his new material from a newsgroup. And then the posts of people angry that he's stealing their jokes without any acknowledgment can turn ugly and Jerry can fear for his safety. He can have one guy, in particular, named The Angel of Death, make serious threats to him. His paranoia can make for some funny moments, as he looks at strangers, wondering if they are the Angel of Death. Then the Angel of Death can turn out to be some little old lady. Ok, so this idea sucks. It had possibilities when I started, though. The idea of having him steal his material off of a newsgroup has potential, though. The actual time spent on the computer would be minimized-just long enough to let us know what's going on. Let me think about this a little longer and I'll return with the definitive post on this subject. It might be cruel, but the "Get a life" angle might also be applied, where Jerry (much like William Shatner in that classic skit on SNL involving the trekkies) begins posting insulting comments to the posters, telling them that it's just a show, for god's sakes! I know that won't happen for fear that it would alienate viewers but it's not too bad of an idea.
I just realized that on the show Jerry doesn't have a show so scrap that last idea. Whoops!!
