Elaine actually swore on TV!

I believe the NBC/syndicated censors actually let a little meaningful obscenity slip by, on "The Marine Biologist" episode. During Elaine's struggle with the Russian writer (?name) in his hotel room, while wresting over the tape recorder, I believe she actually said "shit". I do not have the episode on tape (for archive purposes). However, while watching the syndicated episode as part of daily time-shifting, I was able to replay this scene several times and I have little doubt that she said the "dreaded" "s" word. Can any dedicated newsgroup member verify the existence of the usage of the ol' 4 letter word? Please do so quietly or we may see an extra edit the next time the episode is aired?

...I've never figured out why the networks would censor 'shit'-- is it the most natural and practical all-around word in the english language. I've noticed shit gets by (as does goddamn) without censorship on the BBC and PBS's showing of UK programmes such as 'Prime Suspect'. A 'shit' used at this right time and place can be very funny..

A little off the subject but didn't Mr. William Shatner make an audio of his name for 60 minutes (not the TV show) saying his name in every conceivable way, including, if I may, "Shitner"? i had a bio of him some years back (where it went, no one knows) that had an article of him doing just that.

Yes. I remember posting this when the episode originally aired and I remember various others confirming that they had heard it, too.

The interesting thing is, that if you watch closely, at the time she says it, her mouth isn't "mouthing" that word, which means either editing really messed up, or they did it intentionally to see if they could get away with it--of course, there may be other reasons why, but those are only a few.
