I have a question that my husband and I have been pondering since September when the program originally began airing in syndication.

Exactly why are the programs not aired in chronological order? We have tapes we've been making for _several_ years and some of the old tapes were made when we had bad cable reception.

We now have a good cable co. with great reception so we are retaping the shows but, unfortunately, they are not airing in chronological order. If anyone has any influence over this, please let the "powers that be" know that they show begin airing the programs in chronological order. Plus, as you all know, _Seinfeld_ is a continuing saga... If the programs are not shown chronologically, newcomers can, and probably will be, confused.

The closest that anyone came to an answer was one newsgrouper that called thier local station and asked the question. The station employee said that the syndication company, (which is part/owned by Sony, I believe) is releasing them out of order. This station claimed that once they were all released, that that particular station would show them in order.

Is anyone else being driven crazy by this?

On Saturday, February 3, the Fox affiliate here in Washington, D.C., which has the syndication rights to our beloved show, showed the first episode, "The Seinfeld Chronicles." I was ecstatic over this because I thought it meant we were about to be treated to the episodes in order and from the beginning.

Instead, for the next week, this occurred:

Monday 2/5 Episode ? (a much later episode) Mr. Pitt becomes obsessed with Kramer's 3D poster.

Tuesday 2/6 Episode 9 "The Phone Message"

Wednesday 2/7 Episode 27 "The Stranded"

Thursday 2/8 Episode 11 "The Statue"

Friday 2/9 Episode ? Jerry decides to change barbers because his has a history of giving bad haircuts.

Saturday 2/10 Episode 4 "Male Unbonding"

Is this the way it is around the country? I assume individual affiliates in cities all over bid for the syndication rights and can do whatever they wish. But why would they choose to show the episodes in this random and irritating fashion? It would seem to be just as easy to show them in the order they were first aired, and far more satisfying for the audience.

Alan, yup, everyone all around the country gets the same episodes on the same days. I'm sure there's some master plan that we can't discern. They seem to be showing 3 or 4 new (new for syndication that is) episdoes every week now.
