Question

Fans discuss whether Kramer's dreamcoat scene is a parody of a famous movie, with most agreeing it resembles Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" music video.

Last night, I was watching the episode where Kramer gets arrested for being a "pimp". Just before he is arrested, there is a scene with him walking down the street in the dreamcoat from "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", wearing a hat and using a walking stick.

The style of this scene makes me think it is a parody of a movie scene (possibly the real "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"?). Does anyone know if this is the case? If so, what movie?

Thanks in advance - Sorry if this has been asked before

Todd

I've not seen Dreamcoat, but the scene of Kramer walking down the street with the music reminded me of Michael Jackson's music video of BillyJean.

Yeah, that's what occurred to me too. Nothing to do with the Joseph and the dreamcoat (which I'm ashamed to say I saw once).

Hey, that's a great show! Or do you mean you're ashamed becuase you've seen it *only* once? ;-)

I actually saw a video of the said production and found it overlong and made me very sleepy,

so I "closed my eyes, drew back the curtains, and knew for certain that any dream would do" :)

Ahh, ya' gotta see it live. It's like baseball: incredibly boring to watch on TV, but kinda' fun if you're seeing it in person.

[Now this is where the baseball aficionados will flame me]

Nope, it is boring in real life too.

But that is what makes it such a great game.

One of the few (only? - okay and tennis) sports that is not run by the clock. Just unfolds and progresses on its own based on the actions of the players, the strategy and tactics of the coaches, the bounce of a ball, the meager statistical advantages of altering play based on different situations and conditions, What a game - best when played by 9 players, on grass, in the daylight. Also not so boring at home if you score the game. Are there any other people that can do that anymore?

This is not off topic because of Jerry's love of baseball.- and one of the best baseball scenes in any TV show (ratboy so correctly, pointed it out to me)

Golf IS governed by the clock - read the rules.

Darts, Bowling, SPORTS??? Thought you might have added Snooker too :-)

SPORTS!!!!! Gotta involve mud, blood, broken teeth, cleated shoes or helmets and cheerleaders!!! :-)

Like Rugby, Football (soccer to our US friends), . . . But Darts????

Okay cricket - but it is so much like baseball in so many ways they could be included together as two evolutions of a common ancestor. However, I was thinking of games played in hours not WEEKS!!!! :-)

Besides, the time limit on cricket is invoked *far* more often than that on golf. If there is no winner after 5 days play, it a draws.

Try cricket max - it is played in about four hours (not that many would know what the hell I'm talking about.)

Well 15 two hour sessions is time limit of sorts. Although timeless tests were played as recently as the 1950s IIRC.

Timeless tests stand the test of time.

I think he meant the few sports without a clock that require physical fitness and don't require a keg party in the final frame/round/etc. .ted

If you can drink beer while you're playing it, it's not a sport.

I was thinking it's not a real sport if you can't drink beer while playing :)

Only if you include such non-sports as darts and bowling.
