The Judge's name, I didn't get it

Why was George happy about the Judge, based on his name. I didn't understand that...

Because on earlier episodes, whenever George assumed a phony identity to impress someone or to get something, he always used the name "Art Vandelay." When he heard that the judge was Arthur Vandelay, he took it to be a sign that things would go their way.

time was in the second episode (The Stakeout) and the last time was in
the next to the last episode (The Puerto Rican Day Parade).<

When I watched the Finale last night, I laughed my butt off when they introduced "The Honorable Judge Arthur Vandelay." I saw the finale with a friend who is only a casual fan, and she must have thought I was nuts, with the way I reacted to the Judge's name, so I had to explain it to her.

actually the name "art vandelay" was first mentioned in the very first episode of the series (after the pilot). jerry wanted to "accidentally bump into" a girl he'd met. as they stood in the lobby of her downtown office bldg, they had to think of a reason for being there . . . and george was an architect, art vandelay, who they decided worked in the same building.

Hey Mike Farnham....you lucky bastard...it looks like you haven't seen a lot of Seinfeld...I envy you catching up and seeing a lot of it for the first time.

EXACTLY! We all know that "Vandalay" is George's favorite alias -- but what was the point of the judge having his name? When I heard George point out what the judge's name was, I thought to myself, "yeah.... so....?" It was an intended ironic moment lacking a real ironic punch line.

When George was talking to the employment office lady and dating her daughter (when Keith Hernandez and Elaine kissed) he told the lady that he was probably going to get hired by Vandalay Industries and gaver her Jerome's phone number. Of course, Jerry never did answer the phone as George instructed him, but in another episode, George hears the phone ring and dives for it.
