I've noticed this too. And he's been called "successful", by Elaine. I get the impression that, as a comedian, he must have "made it", just as he did in real life.

How about that apartment over in Italy, that the guy said you couldn't possibly get, so Jerry took as a challenge and got one. He also bought a car, then a valet parked it for him and made it smell like bo. He eventually let the car get stolen. (I think they're showing this one tonight 1-8, on the syndicated episodes)
