First off you bunch of idiots, the flag caught fire by accident. NOT ON PURPOSE. If you watched the show you'd know that. Since many of you morons feel the show is REAL lets look at it this way. The assume out of respect for the flag Kramer refused to step on it and put out the accidental fire. Then a burst of wind carries the flag into the crowd igniting the clothes of other puerto ricnas. Hundreds panic and many die from stampede and burns. The Kramer is locked behind bars for failure to prevent a fire.

I don't live in NY, and have never heard about the parade til seinfeld did it...so are they TOURIST that put on the parade? Or are they American citizins? Or are they illegal aliens? Good info Flesh, let me just interject one point that this was illegal by the autonomic charter Puerto Rico had at the time with Spain. Basically the charter stated that Spain would consult with Puerto Rico first before making any decisions about her political future. In this case Spain gave US possession without consent.

Puerto Rico is a Territory of the United States and every Puerto Rican is born a full legal U.S. citizen since 1917. NYC happens to be the part of the Mainland US where a larger community of Puerto Ricans and their descendants happen to live, thus the community throws a big party/parade once a year.

Hey, we're there, too, on all the national celebrations ,4th. July, Thanksgiving, etc. Refer also to my first comment above. Besides, since PR is a Territorial Commonwealth of the US, it is not anyone's "former" country unless they permanently leave the USA altogether.
