Looking back at some of the highlights tonight (for the second time) is once again astonishing. They could probably do nothing but highlight shows all summer long and never bore anyone- probably even get near regular season level ratings . The impact of Seinfeld on American drama has yet to be fully recognized. Culturally only a few feature films are possibly in the same league so far (and possibly not). No critics or commentators I have read in the press/media over the past 9 years display any understanding of Seinfeld. They don't seem to be versed in the important cultural role comedic drama can play in a civilization -and does in the case of Seinfeld. Or what, for that matter can give comic drama a lasting importance. The American people seem to know it when they see it though! And long after we're gone it will still be noted as worth review- and Jerry and Larry David's war on hypocrisy will still get its well earned nod. And for those Anti-Seinfeldians out there: yes they were geniuses, you're not, and history likely will never record that you were here- or me either for that matter, as with most members of the human race. At least you could try to be philosophical about it instead of petty and give our leading artists their due. Scttttttr
