George's Glorious Anxiety

When "The Dealership" was on the other day, I was amazed at how "mental" George was throughout the entire episode. He didn't calm down until he finally had his Arby's at the end. Was his "mood" at the dealership affected particularly because of his hunger or something deeper...like genetics (Estelle and Frank)? The whole "vein" thing in that ep...I thought George was really going to lose it...and he kinda did with his "primal scream" after all the Twix had been eaten.

My question has to do with how many episodes have to do with George's paranoia. Like "sticking it", getting "screwed," and how many "primal screams." One of his girlfriends thinks he should be put away, and in one episode doesn't she find George in the same hospital as her "disturbed" father? What episode(s) is that from?

Can we trace George's personality through the seasons...he wasn't as neurotic in the beginning was he?

I agree with the poster who started this thread. One of the annoying things in that very annoying episode was George's behavior. It was the first time I didn't find him funny, I just wanted him to shut the hell up.

I agree. Through the first eight seasons, George was far and away my favorite character. Practically every moment he was on the screen was enjoyable. Unfortunately, by the last season, the writers had gotten really lazy writing for him. They seemed to think that all George had to do was scream, and it was hilarious. "The Dealership" was the most glaring example of this.

George seemed very normal in the very first episodes, but he progressively declined through the seasons. He probably really wanted to get married.

  ** I don't think so.  For example, in the first episode the
     waitress makes a joke at his expense and he doesn't fume
     or retaliate or anything...
