Well it has great ratings and people over 30 not only get it!!! but think its funny!!

Boston Common was renewed for the fall. It's audience dropoff was approximately the same as the Single Guy's according to TV Guide, but the Single Guy is a maybe for fall.

Seems like I read somewhere that "Boston Common" has already been renewed for next season, whereas "The Single Guy" is still a "maybe".....

was "no way" that it was going to be in the same cushy slot between
"Friends" and "Seinfeld."
	Translation: We're going to do to you what we did to "Hope &
Gloria." Your show sucks, we're moving it to one of the worst slots on the
schedule and you won't be around come January 1997.

Well, "Boston Common" and "The Single Guy" are both good shows. "Hope and Gloria" was terrible, IMHO.

Mad About You has moved to Tuesday nights followed at 8:30 by Caroline in the City. A new sitcom called Suddenly Susan is now following Seinfeld at 9:30 on Thursdays. Anyone heard anything about this? Also, NBC is picking up ABC's defunct sitcom Foxworthy for it's fall lineup giving it a much better time slot and a better team to work with.

What is going on! In my opinion, Single Guy sucked! I can't believe that Boston Common is getting moved and Single Guy gets a great slot! What gives? Anyone out there no how to get the message to the NBC big wigs? If so, please tell them that there are viewers here in NC who enjoyed the Boston Commons and hated Single Guy. Single Guy sends us channel surfing!

Oh, I think they got the messages alright:

"Boston Common is good enough to stand on its own on another night, so let's move it"

"The only reason why The Single Guy is getting good ratings is that it's between Friends and Seinfeld, so let's leave it where it is"

Those damn NBC execs need a severe beating for putting crap like that on TV.

I, too, hate Single Guy's guts, but I believe in the word of the producers, who said, about 3 weeks into the show, (when they realized how darn popular it was--3rd place in ratings) that they would "definitely" bring it back for next season. I've also heard that the same guys are going to keep Single Guy for next season as well. So, this is my guess: they'll probably put Boston Common in a different time slot, and if it is as popular then as it was for 5 whole episodes, it'll still survive. Just cross your fingers.

Stop all this crap about Boston Common. This is a Seinfeld group. Boston Common has nothing in common with Seinfeld. When Boston Common was on, I reverted to watching Martin episodes on Fox (which are not that funny anymore). Sometime, I wish they take some of the better Fox shows like Living Single and New York Undercover and put them opposite trash like Boston Common. The Single Guy which was initially fun to watch has worn thin. Caroline in the City is one those shows that is tolerable, but not a show that is a must see. Seinfeld has nothing in common with the rest of the lineup. In fact, Ellen may have the more in common with Seinfeld than the other Thursday shows.

Make up your mind... are you flaming people for cross-posting irrelevant stuff, or are you giving your own irrelevant personal opinion on what you like and dislike about Thursday night TV?

Wrong. Boston Common does have something in common with Seinfeld. Both from Castlerock. Both on NBC. Both created by creators who were buddies with a standup comic, and built show around standup comic.
