Seinfeld is funny. But I don't understand how TV Guide and the Viewers could name it the Best Comedy of All time.

Seinfeld is Funny.  I give it its due.  But for TV Guide to name it the best
Comedy of All time is something I don't understand.  Seinfeld is more
intellectual humor in listening to them talk. It's not physical humor as
much.  And I think Physical humor in comedy is more funny than mainly
intellectual humor.
     In my opinion, Three's Company is the funniest show or comedies of all
time.  And for it not to even make the list of TV Guides best shows is
ridiculous.  With all the awards Three's Company won and its high ratings is
ridiculous.
     I think Seinfeld got the TV Guides Best Comedy Award from the viewers
because this was more of a recent show and people basically remember
basically the most Recent success it had and are more willing to vote for
this show as the best.  It also caught on and became a popular thing to
watch.  But in my opinion and maybe others, Three's Company was the best
Comedy series I've seen.  Even after all these years, I laugh hysterically.
When I watch Seinfeld I laugh.  At times I laugh hard.  I give it its
credit.  But I find myself laughing more harder and hysterically when
watching Three's Company and it's Sexual and innuendos funny comedy.
      I'm not taking anything away from Seinfeld.  And if you think it's the
best comedy of all time, that's your opinion.  But in my view, the best
comedy is Three's Company with is broad Physical humor and fun.

You've obviously never seen the original English version, "Man About the House" which is, of course, much better.

People didn't stay home to watch #'s Company. Seinfeld was so well written. Every show was discussed the next day at work. No show will ever come near Seinfeld.

While Seinfeld being the funniest show is arguable, I don't think Three's Company is the right show to argue it with...Three's Company, while funny, was hardly at the level of say Cheers or Frasier in it's first few seasons...Not to mention M*A*S*H, I Love Lucy, The Simpsons...and of course Seinfeld...

Heck, I think Hill Street Blues was funnier than Three's Company...

Sorry, I disagree. Three's Company's writing was very funny. Seinfeld's Writing was funny also. Three's Company was hilarious in its situations. And even though you may not feel Three's Company's scripts were as brillliant as Frazier or Seinfeld, I disagree with you. Being on top for as many years Three's Company was and with the changing cast members that were there shows the level of writing. You don't become the top rated tv show and with different cast member changes without good writing. In addition, Three's Company relied more on Physical humor in addition to intellectual humor. Three's Company also relied on sexual humor which I think alot of intellectual people feel they are above this sense of humor to like. Others shows like Frazier or Seinfeld rely mainly on intellectual humor which in my opinion can become dull at times. I give Seinfeld its due for being funny. But in my opinion, Three's Company along with I Love Lucy ranks as the Best Comedy series of all time. Three's Company and Seinfeld relied on both intellectual and physical humor. Being that Three's Company was made around 20 years ago show how if you're not recent, you may be forgotten. This probably had a little to do with it not even seeming to be on the list of TV Guides Best shows. Or other reasons may explain it.

so.  And Frazier being funnier than Three's Company,  I don't think so.
Being that Frazier is basically an intellectual type of humor, in my opinion
that can be dull at times.  In addition, I thought Three's Company was
funnier than M*A*S*H.
     Is it conincidence that Lucille Ball thought Three's Company was one of
the funny shows she watched and endorsed?  I don't think so. Three's Company
was plain funny.

I think people felt watching Seinfeld was cool and it became a cool sort of thing. That's fine. To be honest, I didn't hear others talking about Seinfeld that much except on the radio. But Seinfeld is a funny show.

You don't stay the top rated show that long in addition to going through
different cast member changes alot  without good writing.  In addition,
Three's Company relied not only on intellectual humor, but also Physical
humor, in which they were very very good at.  They also relied on funny
sexual innuendoes and sexual humor which possibly alot of intellectual
people feel they are above that.  But it added to the show and even after
all these years, I laugh as hard if not harder as when I first watched it.
Unbelieveable.
     But you like Seinfeld, so that's fine.

Hi, Joe, I'm not going to convince any of you that Three's Company is better than it actually is. You're right. Maybe some of you just don't like this kind of humor. That's fine. But even though you may not think it is as good a quality show as Seinfeld, that's your opinion. I think it is as funny if not funnier. But you obviously don't think so. So we agree to disagree. Seinfeld is funny. I agree. I give it its credit. But Three's Company, in my view , not yours, is the funniest series comedy I've ever seen. I know you don't agree with me, but that's fine. Is it no wonder that Lucille Ball herself endorsed Three's Company. I think it was one of the shows she really enjoyed and laughed at.

Im not going to lie Three's Company had its funny moments and even broke a lot of boundaries in its day. But coming to a Seinfeld Newsgroup and telling us all that a different show is better and we all believe you isn't going to happen.

I couldn't find a Three's Company newsgroup for you but maybe you could make one, there might be some followers out there.

I've always felt that Frasier takes the cake for intellectual humor. Seinfeld was clever, but Frasier to me was a more intellectual brand of humor. Jus my opinion, though. Three's Company, of course, was mostly slapstick with the same plot line every episode (a misunderstanding). Kind of like The Dukes Of Hazzard, where Boss always hired two crooks who turned on him, and the Duke Boys had to bail him out and catch the criminals without using guns...

I of course love all these shows.
