Last night I saw the classic episode "The Switch" in syndication. I've searched around Google and come to the conclusion that the special music in this episode was created for the show by Jonathan Wolff.
The music, however, must have a basis in reality, or "film noir" as everyone on my google searches called it. My question is this: what sort of music does this piece pay omage to? Are there any similar tunes or composers out there that are similar? It reminded me of the soundtrack to "Taxi Driver", but it's not quite the same.
The piece I'm talking about plays during the scene where Jerry and George are trying to figure out how to pull the switch, and also later when Kramer's mom meets with Newman on the street.
Any ideas?
