So...How Will It End?

It's official...start posting your hypotheses now!

Jerry is going to be hunted down and killed by Babu, Davola, & all the other people he made fun of in the past seasons.

Sorry, I know this is weak, but I'm trying to get to ball rolling. How 'bout Newman flies into a suicidal rage, taking out several of his co-workers, then runs home or to Monks where he and Jerry trade final greetings before he blows away the four of them, before turning the gun on himself. Final segment takes place in hell where they're all surely to end up.

Hmmmm..... So Newman and Kramer set fire to the apartment building, and Jerry ends up moving out, and hanging out at Elaine's place? No, wait a second, that almost sounds a little bit like Cheers?

Why not. That would be an okay way to end the series with a flashforward at the end with Jerry and Elaine married with George performing the ceremony.

Jerry and George get a second shot at having a series on NBC, and this time they succeed. They move out to L.A. to work on the show, thus breaking up the gang and write their new "show about nothing" which is based on the previous nine years of their lives.

So Jerry gets tired of being surrounded by yes men and women and dating lightweight starlets, thinks he's being homesick, but then realizes what he really misses is Elaine and her, shall we say, abrasiveness. Kramer, being his own man as always, would stay in New York. He would continue on pretty much as he has, although me might end up dating and marrying a supermodel, or luck into some other fortunate situation without even trying.

Newman wins $100,000 in the lottery, but contributes it all to the DNC and gets appointed Head Postmaster of NYC.

Anyway, the final scene should feature George and Jerry talking while lost driving through an industrial area on their way to Jerry's wedding. The camera pulls back as they argue and continues to pull back down the street and around a corner to show some workman renovating a building. They remove the sign of the building's old tenant and throw it in a dumpster. The camera pans over to the dumpster and shows the sign. It reads "Vandelay Industries, makers of fine latex products".

Oh, and Jerry would insist that his tux be blue and red, Superman's colors.

Of course, if NBC wants to do a spin-off, they couldn't do the above scenario, because, IMHO only Elaine really has spin-off potential. You can't really base a successful series around a "wacky" character like Kramer or jerk like George. There's a reason those types of characters are never the lead character. And a show centered on George's parents would be just plain annoying.

Let's face it, most people have thought all along that Jerry and Elaine would marry.

       that introduces Elaine.  We aren't told (ever?) why Jerry
       and Elaine broke up.  That's a big issue around which an
       episode can be spun.  It could turn out that in fact the
       break-up was a result of a misunderstanding that could have
       been easily resolved had either Jerry or Elaine realized
       it.  (Preferably involving a one-armed man whom Jerry would
       have to track down.)  As soon as the issue is settled, we
       can have a quick cut to Jerry and Elaine ten years older.
       Jerry says to Elaine, shouldn't their kid be home from
       school by now? They were going to take him to see SACK LUNCH.
       Elaine says, yes, she doesn't know what's keeping him.
       On cue, the kid bursts wide-eyed and skidding through the
       door.  Elaine says "Where have you been?  We're almost
       late for the movies."  The kid says, "Giddy-ap!"

I think that in the series special hour-long finale, Kramer will find something bizarre at a pawn shop (a la the movie "Gremlins"); it'll turn out to be "anti-kryptonite" which will turn Jerry into Superman, Kramer into Superboy and Newman into the evil "Pigman." Newman as Pigman will enlist Kramer's mother in a plot to distroy Jerry. But Jerry will finally vanquish Newman forever when Kramer's mom's love for Kramer will prove at the end to be the weak link in Pigman's diabolical plans.

George's subplot will be where he will snap and go insane as a result of flashbacks seeing his parents "rocking the van". He'll have a confrontation with police after beating Lloyd Braun to death with a marble rye and then taking his parents hostage. Steinbrenner tries to get him to surrender, but as Maria Tomai finally succeeds in drawing him out of his parents house he is humorously and mistakenly killed as he surrenders. The priest from last season will do the last rites with a few "yada-yadas" once he's sure George has already expired and that no-one is listening.

Elaine and Puddy get married and then find out that they are actually brother and sister after they go in for genetic counciling for Puddy's attention deficit disorder ( his thousand yard stare in airplanes. . .) . Hearing of the marriage, J. Peterman admits to an unrequited crush on Elaine, but ends up taking Puddy away from her (I've long suspected Peterman was gay, not that there's anything etc. . . .) . The emotional trauma of all this causes Elaine to lose all her hair.

The final scene will be similar to one they've done many times which captures perfectly the true essence of the series and has long been one of my favorites.

Jerry, Kramer and bald Elaine either at the police station or hospital, the Doctor, or cop informs them that George is dead. They stand silently for a moment absorbing the news, avoiding eye contact, shuffle, nod a few times, then Jerry will suggest brightly, " Anybody wanna get coffee?" They walk off as the credits roll.

The postscript after the commercial will be in the Seinfeld living room set where all four characters give a sincere thank-you for 9 years of fun as Elaine accidentally does a final "Get Out!", pushing Kramer out a window. . .

I don't think everyone would be satisfied with a regular 1 hour show. So I think that Jerry will discover the true meaning of life, makes peace with all his enemies (Newman, Babu) and proposes to Elaine. George wins 75 million dollars in the lottery and his parents both die at the same time, leaving George happier than he's ever been. Kramer will become a New York icon. Also, most of or all of the 2ndary characters make appearances throughout the entire first half hour. Then after all that good fortune, everything goes wrong in the final half hour.

Also, in the upcoming weeks leading up to the final episode, I think we'll meet George's bro and Elaine's sister. There will be some story revolving around Frank and Estelle Costanza (I heard that Jerry Stiller wants his real life wife to be on the show so that they can play out a love triangle between the Costanzas). We'll find out how Elaine and Jerry broke up, how the Newman/Seinfeld rivalry started. Babu will make an assassination attempt on Jerry, and George will be haunted by the "ghost" of Susan.

I also think that Jerry will ask Larry David to come back and do the final 3 episodes and the final episode. It doesn't look like David will go back to Seinfeld, but something like that will make headlines, much like the headlines that were made last week when Jerry announced that this was "Seinfeld"'s last season.
