I agree... the toilet brush was probably already in there anyway, so what's the point of wasting her time to put that in there. It's ridiculous. I thought that the attempt at humorous irony was severely lacking in actual payoff. That would have been perfect for a tie in to a previous episode, like putting the tweety bird pez dispenser in the toilet or something lik ethat.

I disagree. She could have put nothing in there, but telling Jerry something had been in the toilet was the important thing, not what it was, as it freaked him out. I thought the toilet brush was a brilliant stroke, as he never thought of that (as Padraic noted presumably it's been in the toilet plenty of times) and threw out all kinds of other stuff. *I* certainly wasn't expecting it!! LOL!!
