Bad acting or my imagination?

Did anyone else notice the bad acting in this episode? One specific instance was when George made his comment while the fat guy was getting robbed. Sounded like he was reading a cue card that was too far away.

Also, I found the extensive bickering in the first 1/2 hour to be over done to the point of being out of character.

I thought it really had the feel that the four actors were "forced into a plot line". One of the many things I have liked about this show in the past is trying to anticipate how they would rap up the parallel plots at the end. The plot in this finale episode seemed forced. Finally, while I guess it was inevitable that they brought everyone back, it could have been done with less cheese.

It had it's funny moments but, overall, it was a surprising disappointment.

You noticed that, too? I thought it was _my_ imagination. And they had to play that line _twice_.

The whole last season and a half has not only been plauged by spotty writing at best. The acting also has ranged from "phoning it in" to mugging it up so bad, it looked like a Fox network show. With as weak as some of the shows have been recently, I don't know why we could have expected the group to suddenly go into top form. I found that Julia thought that ACTING if what she said was funny made it funny. She was the worst for mugging it up, and Richards was second. Sometimes Julia's lines were thrown in as if the writers thought it was simply time for her to say something, and because the line was vapid, Julia did some little thing in her attitude that was hopefully going to give it comic depth. But often, it ended with her merely mugging it up.

No big name actors?
