A reverse peephole would be invented and used in practical hospital applications to check on patients.
Poster reports seeing a reverse peephole used in a hospital radiation ward to check patient location before workers enter, matching the device from the episode.
While in a hospital recently I saw people on a radiation ward. When the nurses and workers entered the rooms, to deliver food or drop off medicine, they asked the patients to move far back away from the doors.
This was to protect the workers from accumulating radiation exposure.
In order to ensure the patient complied with the request, the worker, before entering the room, checked the location of the patient through a REVERSE PEEPHOLE!!!
