I believe that he did. Wasn't there a sceane near the end at Monks when he told her what he did and she thought it was sweet but she told him she was leaving for a year?? Or am I out to lunch.

The Costanzas are Portuguese. The Jews were expelled from Portugal in 1493. There are a few there now, but the family is clearly intended to be non-Jewish.
On the other hand, their ethnic characteristics, their first names and occupations (wasn't George's cousin Shelly going to law school?) are those of New York Jews. The actors who play them are Jews. Jerry Stiller says that the Costanzas are a Jewish family in a witness protection program...
I used to think Kramer was not Jewish. A non-Jewish friend disagreed. Yes, Kramer is opposed to circumcision. On the other hand, he cooked for the Jewish singles group. Why was he doing that?

Why not? Are only Jews allowed to cook for Jewish singles groups? Actually, Frank Costanza cooked for the group, and you just said that he wasn't Jewish.
What are you talking about, Portuguese? They are from Italy, there was that episode where Frank recognizes his cousin in a picture that, who, Maestro maybe, I don't remember, had taken in Italy.
Kramer's ethnicity is unimportant as he is clearly spiritual, as the mood suits him, but agnostic.
Elaine is a Protestant, I believe that Jerry as referred to her as a WASP, or some equivalent, when referring to her East Coast boarding school up-bringing.

I disagree, In the episode where Kramer hosts The Jewish singles dance, Jerrys asks him why he's doing it b/c he is not Jewish, I cant remember what Kramers response was only that he wasn't Jewish, B/C I thought that at the time too. I imagine Kramer is some wierd Cult religion! LOLOL It would be just like him!
