Here's one I just crafted:

Q. What is the stupidest thing one can do if one recycles and cares about the Earth and the environment?

A. Making new babies instead of adopting ones that are arleady made.

Good point.

Notice "population explosion" is now seldom uttered by anyone.

Because today more people only means one thing: more things to sell and thus more profit.

Yeah. But international adoption could also create a new consumer if the baby comes from a country where you can't buy anything anyway. :)

No doubt that making a baby could be an enriching experience for a couple, but with the level of awareness that we reached about our planet's resources which are limited and decreasing, procreating is now essentially a selfish act for the individual who's aware about adoption and about the little overpopulated planet on which we're all stuck. So why not helping a baby who is already on the boat with us, instead of creating a new one? Why creating a new one? Why applying the recycle equation to things and not to us? Humanity is like a weed aware of itslef. What good it is for a weed to be aware of itself? Nothing, as long as it remains a weed.

It's ironic, cause the only life-form capable of changing things on Earth, are humans. They're like the gardeners of the Earth. But they're also a the same time the worst weed of their garden! It's very comical...

Though I agree, Maestro, I must wonder what on earth this has to do with "Seinfeld"...?

I can answer you with one word: NOTHING! The thread is about... NOTHING!

I forgot to mention, in case you didn't notice, that even though my comment has nothing to do with Seinfeld, I tried to write the last paragraph in the form of a Sein line from The Cheever Letters. Even if you recycle (give a box of fine Cuban cigars), a stupid garbage man could accidentally empty his garbage truck in your yard! Humans are both weed and gardeners...

Earth, are humans. They're like the gardeners of the Earth. But they're also a the same time the worst weed of their garden! It's very comical...

JERRY: (Laughs) I mean, the whole thing is ironic. Think of it: Here the guy is nice enough to give you a box of very fine Cuban cigars..

GEORGE: Yeah, I know what happened.

JERRY: No, but wait, wait: And then you dump them off onto Kramer..

GEORGE: (Getting frustrated) I know.

JERRY: (Continuing) ..Who, who proceeds to burn the man's cabin down with one of those very same cigars! (Topping off his observation) It's very comical..

"consciousness" is definitely the key word for the future of humanity and this word means mostly in my analogy:

"finding out how to turn a weed into a gardener"

instead of

"finding out how to get rid of weeds."

Cause just trying to get rid of weeds leads into absurd situations like this one: ================================== Kramer: I didn't kill anyone, I swear! I swear to God!

Lt. Martel: Don't you ever swear to my God, Kramer. My God is the god who protects the innocent and punishes the evil scum like you, have you got that?

Kramer: You're making a big mistake.

Lt. Martel: No! You have made the mistake, Kramer. Sickies like you always do. The only difference is that this time you're gonna pay.

Kramer: What?

Lt. Martel: Now you might beat the gas chamber Kramer, but as long as I have got a breath in my body you will never ever see the light of day again.

Kramer: Wow wow wow wow, you've got the wrong man!! It wasn't me!

Lt. Martel: Oh yeah, right. Maybe it was one of your other personalities huh, the wise guy, the little kid, the bellhop, the ball player, maybe the door to door vacuum cleaner salesman, but not you right? No, you wouldn't hurt a fly. You just couldn't help yourself, could you Kramer? You saw life brimming brightly with optimism and verve and you just had to snuff it out.

Kramer: Ok, can I just talk to somebody? Can I just explain...

Lt. Martel: I'm not interested in your explanations, Kramer! Sure, I bet you've got a million of 'em. Maybe your mother didn't love you enough, maybe the teacher didn't call on you in school when you had your little hand raised, maybe the pervert in the park had a present in his pants, huh? Well, I've got another theory Kramer: you're a weed.

Kramer: No...

Lt. Martel: Society is filled with them. They're choking the life out of the all pretty flowers.

KRAMER SOBS

Lt. Martel: You see something even remotely pretty and you have to choke the life out if it, don't you Kramer?

KRAMER CRIES

Lt. Martel: You killed all the pretty flowers, didn't you Kramer? You killed the pretty little flowers, didn't you? You dirty, filthy, stinky weed! Didn't you?

PHONE RINGS

Officer: Lieutenant, it's for you.

Lt. Martel: Martel...yeah...yeah...yeah...yeah.

KRAMER KEEPS CRYING

Officer: What it is, Lieutenant?

Lt. Martel: Let him go.

Officer: What, but Lieutenant?

Lt. Martel: You heard me, let him go. They just found another body at the Laurel Canyon. Go on Kramer, get out of my sight.

Kramer: Hey, how did you know about the guy in the park?

Lt. Martel: I said beat it!

What the hell was that? LOL! Hey, forget about that. Just read Moby Dick a second time. I was going to do it myself, but then I realized that I didn't even read it once. So it didn't work for me. :)
