Viewers question whether George could actually afford a $2,300/month apartment on his Yankees salary, debating New York rental requirements versus his job's realistic compensation.

Hey guys... Sorry if this has been answered before, but I've never followed this group and I didn't see anything about it in the FAQ. In the episode where George pretends to be a tourist to get a girl, I believe he says that his rent is $2,300 a month. One thing that's always bothered me is that, how can he afford to move in there? Pretty much every apartment I've looked at (Washington, DC area) has required at least three times the monthly rent in monthly income. So, $2,300 * 3 * 12 months = $82,800 a year salary required. Does George really make that much, or are things different up in New York?

That's where I'd seen her before! It was driving me crazy trying to remember where I'd seen that girl "Susan" from that new series "Coupling" before. She played George's girlfriend in that muffin-tops-George-is-a-tourist-chicken-drink episode!!!
