While flipping through the channels the other day, I came across the actor who plays Jerry's father, who was on a talk-show on the Nashville Network. One of the things he mentioned was that Jerry eats about 12 bowls of cereal a day on the set, and nothing else. Curiouser and curiouser.... Stacey C.

Now, I'm going to be sick! 12 bowls of cereal a day! Somebody get this man some solid food! Better yet, doesn't he know that one bowl of Total gives 100% of the RDA necessary to start his day. The leading cereals, you need to eat 4 times as much to get the recommended RDA. And this coming from someone who doesn't eat breakfast!

But don't forget - he's fighting to keep that 31" waist!

Geez, if he eats anything less, he'd blow away with the next wind. Mine is 29 and I don't have a problem keeping it that way! I eat til my face turns blue and still don't gain weight. High metabolism.

Excuse me? Would you please explain yourself and your remark?

Easy, there! It was meant with the smiley! Us heavier folks often hear of lucky gals who don't gain weight, and the common response is "bitch!", meant with envy, generally. I, being aware that it's my own damn fault I'm heavy, mean it "with a smiley", though I know some don't. I don't think you're a bitch - I have no evidence to suggest such a thing. I think you're a lucky bitch --> with a smiley! Have I explained properly? No offense meant! If you're offended, I apologize, and you're free to reply with an equal insult.

Thus why I asked you to explain yourself. No, I won't be so rude as to retaliate in the same fashion, and I'll resist the temptation. I did take offense when I first saw it, but I thought it over and I sorta figured there were _some_ jealous minds out there. I can't help that my metabolism is higher than most people's. I can exercise and eat all I want but still manage to stay thin (though I wish I were a few pounds heavier sometimes). It was not my intention to gloat, it was meant as a staement of fact!

One flaw of the Usenet is the faceless-to faceless nature of the communication that takes place. Visual clues are absent as well as a personal context. We try to bridge the gap by employing smileys but this doesn't always works. Humor shouldn't be avoided but should be use with caution for the reasons stated above.
