This is why it is almost unimaginable that there will not be some kind of Seinfeld Reuniion, or one or more sit-com spin-offs from it, during the 1999-2000 season.

NBC, the greediest corporate entity in communications history, will do anything for profit.

Wednesday is the last day of the current ratings period. In an effort to destroy any ratings that CBS or ABC might have, NBC is re airing the finale. Also now the finale will go down in the record books as the most watched show of all time, with a little asterisk beside that says that the ratings were based on airing the show twice. This conclusion was offered by someone on the Seinfeld mailing list, so forgive me for not naming the source of this info.

actually it's only the 3rd most watched finale. The mash finale and I think Newhart finale's both beat Seinfeld

For Super Bowl and Olympics broadcasts, the network "guarantees" a certain return for the buck. I bet NBC promised something that was not actually delivered. It would be interesting to tape the 2nd finale and compare the advertising. I would not be surprised if the exact same commercials in the exact same order where present.

Question though: Is NBC just showing the 1:15 finale or the whole 2:00 clips and all show?

I heard that in 3 counties in New York State, the station somehow blacked out during the last 10 minutes and they never got to see the end. But I don't know if that's the reason. Maybe they just wanted to make more money from advertisements.

through, and every episode will be shown more than once. The summer will probably end with the reshowing of the final episode, because that is customary. As for NBC realizing something about a blunder, what blunder? The ratings may not have been quite what they expected, but they were that way throughout the show. They did not slip at the very end of the show. They could only have been a result of people who had no intention of watching it in the first place. Apparently there were actually some people watching Diagnosis Murder that night after all.

The real reason the were showing it again, because during the last 15 minutes of the first showing alot of people acrosss the US had a power outage, and missed the ending. So out of curtisoy, NBC played it again. :o)

someone told me he thought they were going to re-air it with an alternate ending, bit I didn't think that was true. Supposedly some cable company in New York blacked out the last ten minutes, thats why I THINK the re aired it. Stacey
