The other day we were talking about work and someone suggest I talk to Nathan Goike. I said "Nathan Goike, what kind of name is that ? Is that Dutch ? "

I was trying to come close to the Todd Gack reference. As I recall, Elaine mentioned a new boyfriend to Jerry. He replied something like "Todd Gack, what kind of name is that ? Is that Dutch ?" Later, Jerry mentions the new boyfriend to George, who immediately asks "Is that Dutch ?" Is this close to how it went in the show ?

Unforunately, none of my co-workers "got it". But I work Sienfeld lines like that in whenever possible.

You know when kramer donates blood to jerry and jerry says something like "I can feel his blood, borrowing things from my blood!" I used that line with a few different words and none of my friends understood!

On a similar note, I tried explaining the whole 'real apology' issue to a non-Seinfelder way back when China was protesting about the sincerity of the US' apology (for the fighter plane incident). She understood the humaness of the issue, but not the humor.

I do that all the time, and on the contrary I love it when nobody gets it. Makes you feel... I don't know... one level above your friends... ;-) Too bad I've got to translate the lines into Swedish, though. It kinda ruins the whole thing... The one I've got on my brain now is "I'm out there, Jerry, and I'm lovin' every minute of it!". I've just *got to* throw it in somewhere. It is hard, however, to find a way to reproduce Kramer's thing with the "llllllovin'" in Swedish.

I was thinking, didn't Todd Gack sound made-up, rather than Dutch? Or maybe it was both?

Joe Mayo was the name that Kramer said "Frankly is sounds made up". (Joe Mayo was the utility on the show). The episode with Todd Gack is "The Calzone" in the 7th season. Martin Agren wrote in message news:[email]...
