Barber Ep: How did Barber get inside Jerry's building?

In the 11/11/93 episode, does the barber (Jerry's original barber) live in Jerry's apartment building? In the scene after when Neuman gets a sample of Jerry's hair and takes it back to the barber, the barber comes into Jerry's apartment without calling ahead on the intercom thing. Did anyone else notice that?

Also, in another thread someone mentioned how this has been the best episode since "The Contest." I have to disagree. IMHO, it has been one of the not-so-great ones. Sure, a couple of scenes were funny, but the episode as a whole was rather stupid.

Good Thinking. The most I can think of is that somehow Newman helped Uncle Enzo to get into the apartment building. By the way, I noticed that after both the credits and the Castle Rock logo the show came back for a few seconds with Krammer and a bald Newman. I usually never watch for that long. Has there always been a little more after the logo every week?

     I always wait for the very end (and I have been staying on for "Frazier"
     lately anyway), and to my knowledge that was the first time that they've
     done it like that.  It may also be the first time that acted scenes took
     the place of the closing monolouge, but I may just be fuzzy on that.

Didn't notice, didn't care, but...

     Either he just followed someone in (who was buzzed or had a key,) or
     Newman buzzed him in?

     The first seems more feasable to me... since here at College Park it
     happens all the time (most of the dorm entrances are key-entry, but
     people manage to get in without keys anyway).

I believe that this particular episode was written rather quickly. In an issue of TIME magamzine from two (?) weeks ago they discuss what happens during a week of taping for Seinfeld. In particular, they feature this episode and the script was finalized very late in the taping schedule.

For those who didn't see the article, Elaine and Kramer were supposed to be interested in buying the barber's chair (no bachelor auction). The show's opening monologue ends with a crack about how fancy barbers' chairs are.

Newman stayed behind at the barbershop...Jerry showed up later and scalped him...
