George HATES Kramer

Two points - has George ever said to Jerry that he hates Kramer - I think he does. I think he hates Kramer coz Kramer always gets the women and everything seems to work out well for him - even when he doesn't try. With George, he really wants to be good at 'things', like getting women, and he's crap at everything. He hates the way that Kramer always comes up with really wacky ideas that seem preposterous to George that usually end up working. I think there is a class thing between them (strange in the States) - at the bottom of it, George thinks that he _should_ be better than Kramer - but all evidence points to the contrary.

Shit - that's only one point.

How does Kramer manage to live like a king without a job? Is he independently wealthy? What's the deal?

I think George actually said in an early episode

     "How does he do it?  He gets money without working and
      sex without dating!"

This (jealously) would account for George's dislike of Kramer.

Re: Last night's episode - I loved the way Jerry said "Newman!". And the way Mrs. Seinfeld said "Hello, Newman!" - what a classic!

Was this the show where George had tickets to the Camen islands or someplace, but a psychic said something bad would happen, so Kramer took the tickets, and he played cards or something with nude models on the beach. Or maybe it was the one where Kramer went to the Baseball camp (I think it was the first one, tho) and George says something like:

George: "He falls ass-backward in to money, doesn't work, and something else..." I can't remember, time to watch the tapes again.

The thing that happened bad on the trip was that Kramer steped on a Jellyfish, and "it stung at first." oh, well, what can you do about george?

This, of course, has to be taken in to consideration. George would also not loan his credit card to someone who he hated and didn't trust... of course, I wouldn't trust Kramer with my credit card, but it seems George will never learn.

I don't see any hatred. Some jealousy, but George doesn't hate him. George was getting pretty angry with him in the one where they had to buy the wine at the liquor store and everything kept on going wrong. Hell, I'd be mad as well if I had to pay for all that.

Do you guys actually think that the show goes that deep? This resentment and dislike that you all are talking about? Maybe at times it's alluded to, and maybe I'm not "watching carefully enough", but all I think is this: Elaine's the typical New York 9-5 working person, Jerry's the successful celeb (well, getting there), Kramer is the guy with all the connections, and George is the loser. A character type to relate to by almost everyone who watches it.

As George put it, "He falls ass-backwards in the money." Winning the horse race helped. Well, he doesn't have to worry about food - he's always eating at Jerry's house. He see's an opportunity, he takes it. I really don't know what it is.

George doesn't hate Kramer. I think, however he _does_ feel jealous of him. Not a resentful jealous, more of a jealousy you might have for someone you respect.

Why, just the other night George invited him over to his parents' house for dinner. This might be considered as a last resort to get someone to finish his mother's (insert strange food name here), but it seemed to be as a friendy gesture.

Hehe... nude backgammon with Elle MacPherson. But the episode with the quote below is from the one where Babu Bhatt gets deported back to Pakistan (I think). After Kramer gets back, he tells Jerry and Elaine about how he punched Mickey Mantle in the mouth. And then while Kramer's sitting there contemplating about the whole incident, Jerry notices that Babu's visa renewal form was in his mail.

Haha... or how about when George and Kramer try to get the death in the family airfare, and then the whole thing backfires on George. You knew it was coming... George couldn't be that lucky. "Did you just double-dip that chip?" The rest is history...
