anyone noticed that the quality of comedy proggrammes on the paramount 'comedy' channel has gone right downhill.
i used to watch cheers at 8, just shoot me at 8.30, an hour break, sein an 9 30, fraiser at 10, jack dee at 10 30, paul merton at 11, then later on the larry sanders show at 1. but now its just shite, anyone agree?

Yeah, I agree. I can't understand why they refuse to buy new episodes of 'Larry Sanders', and they should put the highly under-rated 'It's Garry Shandling's Show' on at a far earlier time than 3am.

'Its garry shandlings show' has aged really well, there's nothing like it. i love the sanders show too. did you watch 'its...' last night? the one where he goes out with his ex-girlfriend from canada. that was funny. another funny one was the one where he went out with the cable girl and she sang the theme to gilligans island. its cool. i think the thing with paramoutn is that they're trying to promote loads of brit comedy, which is just not as good as seinfeld and sanders.

Yeah, 'Shandling's Show' is fantastic. I always try my best to see it despite the ridiculous time slot Paramount have put it in. Larry Sanders is just incredible at times, I love the one where they had the spiders in the studio, and the one where Burt Reynolds stands in for Larry and Hank won't stop promoting his restaurant during the show. Yet Paramount treat both shows really shabbily. They have gone more towards the Brit comedy lately, I don't mind so much with 'Father Ted' but when they started showing trash like 'Gayle's World', that's when it started pissing me off.

yeah, i loved that episode. one of my all times favourite quotes is from the sanders show when he's living in montana at the end of the episode where he hums the theme to the show and says to himself "fuckin' frogs". also, how many times has seinfeld been on the sanders show? i think its about 3 or 4, i like the one where he asks hank to ask him what he's doing on the weekend and hank refuses on the grounds that he won't promote his restaurant and eventually we find hank asleep on jerry's couch. that was good. i also think that artie is one of tv's greatest ever characters.
