The Pothole

Did anyone else find the whole delivery policy for the restaurant unrealistic? Why would a restaurant refuse to deliver to you because of where you live (even if you agree to meet them within the zone)? That would just cause them less sales, with no benefit. I didn't find this premise funny because it was just so stupid. The other 3 plots I found very funny though. Kramer and Jerry laughing at George for following the rule to not duplicate his keys was classic.

Resturants in my city (Chicago) are VERY strict about their boundries. I'm sure NY is no different. I've tried to order from places who's boundry ended less than a block away, and they wouldn't do it. I found the premise quite realistic actually.

I'm sure they are strict about where they will deliver to. But if you told them you'd meet them within the delivery boundary, or pick up the food at their store, would they still refuse to sell to you? It seems like it would just give them less potential customers and less profit.

Sure, you could pick it up at the restaurant if you wanted. The point is that, if you want it delivered, you MUST live within their delivery zone. The will not "meet you" somewhere--it simply isn't done. I'm a New Yorker, and I can vouch that in Manhattan, restaurants don't need your money.

I live in Manhatten, and you wouldn't believe how strict the restaurant's are with the boundaries of where they will and will not deliver. I didn't find the episode unrealistic at all. Bob

i find it weird that elaine had it delievered to the janitor closet because she didnt want to sit alone in a restaurant like some loser, but when jerry comes over to the janitor closet he asks if the flounder arrived yet... why couldnt they both just go to the restaurant together? but overall still very funny ep "J. It happens, it IS realistic. Quebec city, Montreal, if you live too far, they won't deliver.
