George has come up with his alterego on several occasions. I just saw one last night where Art was in the import/export business. I remember also that he was in latex one time. Does anyone remember how many times different Art Vandelay's have been mentioned?

Yes, and Bert Harbinson. they were his two alter-egos until he just knocked it down to Art VanDelay.

Sort of. in the 2nd episode (in the lobby of the law firm bldg), he came up with 'Burt Harbinson' (anyone remember that?), then changed his mind with 'Art Core', then added 'velet' as an afterthough. At the last minute, he switched to 'Art Vandeley'.

Art Vanelay is the name George almost always uses when he needs a fake name. When he was out of work and was trying to get his unemployment continued, he told the unmeployment office he had applied for a job at "Vanelay Enterprises" --- a latex firm. He first used the name when he and Jerry follow Kreamer into an office building to use the rest room. George wanted to talk to the receptionist.

I remember the episode where George was trying to milk his unemployment and in order to do so, he had to keep going on job interviews. He had a ruthless "claims person" who was just looking for a reason to boot him off. So George said that he had a great lead on a job for Vandelay Industries, as a latex salesman. He gave her Jerry's number and when she called, Kramer answered Jerry's phone telling her that she had the wrong number. The really funny part was that George was in the apartment taking a dump and came running out with his pants down around his ankles when Kramer was talking to her. George fell flat on his face as Kramer hung up. Jerry capped it by telling George that there is no way he was going to make it as his (Jerry's) latex salesman.
