i saw *the money* last week and i must say it is the worst episode. the one about kramer wanting to sleep alone after sex is not funny. so was george when he can't decide if his parents should go away, or when elaine hires jerry'a dad.the only thing that is funny is that this was a seinfeld episode!?!
c'mon, jerry and gang ( + writers) you all can do better!

"The Pothole" was way over the top and not at all plausible or funny. Humor like putting bleach in mouthwash, exploding toilets, and burning Newman might have worked in a cartoony lowbrow show like Married...With Children but did not fit Seinfeld at all. It all came off really stupid.
Entertainment Weekly called "The English Patient" "unbearably simplistic and broad--especially that Mandelbaum crap" and that about sums it up. This episode had a few redundant plotlines that repeated themselves over and over--witness the old men hurting their backs over and over, and Elaine being ostracised for disliking a move over and over--until they were forced together in an uncharacteristically mean conclustion (even for Seinfeld).
So while "The Money" was lackluster, it was far from the worst.

This season has produced some really top-notch episodes (The Fatigues, The Bizarro Jerry, The Comeback, The Abstinence, The Millenium) and some really horrible ones (The English Patient, The Susie, The Van Buren Boys, The Nap). I think the real problem with the past season is not that it was all bad, but just too inconsistent.
