Fans discuss Michael Richards' personality in real life, noting he's quite different from his Kramer character, with mixed accounts of his interview appearances.
I just saw the clip show(s) on BBC2 last night (once again), and I love to get a glimpse of the actors joking around on the set. Now I was wondering if someone in this group knows what Michael Richards is like in real life. I've heard he's nothing like Kramer. Is there maybe an interview somewhere on the internet? Thanx in advance for any replies!

Well, I dunno about 'real life', but I saw him in an interview with Rosie O'Donnell and he was incredibly boring. He had virtually nothing to say about anything. It was really embarrassing to watch in fact.

Rosie isn't a very good interviewer on that show from what I have seen. The Charlie Rhoads interview I posted about with Michael Richards was excellent.

He's weird. Not that Kramer isn't but he's not weird in the likable sense that Kramer is. He seems to be kinda awkward, he's kinda like Harrison Ford if you've ever seen him in an interview.

Michael Richards talked about Seinfeld and mentioned about how fast paced the show is and how they end up leaving things out because of time. Charlie Rhoads is a great interviewer and I really enjoyed it. I remember Richards saying he was criticial of his own performance and looked to improve it. He mentioned how he approached Kramer's character that the guy just stepped right into life and the action, which is how the entrance into Jerry's apartment started. He came up with that cause he felt it fit Kramer. After this interview I felt I had more insight into the show and enjoyed it even more watching it as I thought about how he developed the character.
