What the hell is mutton?

Even the name sounds disgusting. I couldn't get a clear shot of the plate of mutton, in the episode. What kind of meat is it? How do you prepare it? Does anyone know approximately what it tastes like? Is it as disgusting as Jerry thinks it is? Thanks.

Mutton is lamb I think,,

Mutton is actually the meat of an adult sheep as opposed to lamb which is the meat of a relatively young sheep. It is quite a bit tougher than lamb as you might imagine.

mutton is old lamb, so i guess you could call it sheep. HAve you heard that expression mutton dressed as lamb, for someone dressing too young for their age?
