Fans discuss why George's brother is mentioned in "The Parking Space" but never appears in the series, with one poster recalling another episode where the brother gets someone pregnant.
In The Parking Space Episode, George says:
"Nobody in my family can pay for parking, it's a sickness. My father never paid for parking; my mother, my brother, nobody. We can't do it."
I don't recall ever being introduced to George's brother. If in fact his brother never appears in the series, why do you think they put this line into the script (other than it rhymes)?

I wonder why we never meet George's brother, or why his parents never mentioned him. You would think Estelle and Frank would have talked about him "Why can't you be more like your brother? He's a successful architect at Vandelay Industries."
Speaking of family issues, I find it interesting that Jerry, Elaine and Kramer are only children.

I was at a social function and was cornered by this environmental (and I do mean MENTAL) apostle who twisted my ear about global warming. Before we parted ways, he shook my hand and asked my name and I said "Art Vandelay". It was like that Smith-Barney commercial or whatever firm it was; just about every person within earshot stopped and looked right at me. Obviously a lot of Seinfeld fans. The whackjob twisting my ear apparently didn't get it, looked at everyone looking at us and knew I was pulling something, but didn't know what. I just had this shit-eating grin on my face and quickly walked away.
LOL! "Art Vandelay" is the secret word. Only "Seinies" get it.
Hmmm...what other secret words would ferret out the Seinies at a party?

I don't know, but can speculate several reasons:
- We never meet any siblings of the main four characters, not just George. That to me is telling. In addition to George mentioning a brother, only Elaine mentions a sister (her son saw her nipple picture), and Kramer and Jerry never mention siblings.
- This is comedy. Parents can be funny (Jerry's and George's). You don't meet Elaine's father after his first visit (not funny), or Kramer's mother, because they were not funny. Siblings (the concept, in relation to a main character) are not funny in a sitcom. See item 1.
- The above two are enough. However, also consider that if they were really going to bring a character on to play George's brother, the expectation would be too high, and one can imagine that the concept would fail. One close success (finding "a George") was the portrayal of George in The Pilot, but that was a different concept, where the goal was to impersonate George. There is only one George. A brother wouldn't work. A George, divided against itself, cannot stand.
- Just because George mentions a brother in earlier episodes (two) does not obligate the writers to then develop a character or continue to mention the brother (through him or his parents). For the above reasons, there was no need to, and it would have probably been a mistake to do this. The mention of the brother was script filler, that's all.

Jerry anticipates a phone call from his sister in The Chinese Restaurant, the result of a chain reaction phone tree of sorts starting with Lorraine, from Uncle Leo's office.
I simply chalk it up to sloppy writing, or as you say, "script filling." Lately, I've been watching the first three seasons of The Dick Van Dyke show on Netflix's Roku box. In the closing credits, one stands out:
Marjorie Mullen .... continuity (32 episodes, 1961-1966)
Apparently the Seinfeld writers were not afforded such a luxury among their staff.

No indication that Jerry had any siblings - but he did have two dads who played MORTY - Barney Martin and Phil Bruns, who I recalled was Jerry's dad in one episode. This is the first appearance of Frank Costanza, George's father. He was played in this episode not by Jerry Stiller, but by John Randolph. In 1995, the scenes featuring Randolph were re-shot with Stiller for syndication in order to maintain better continuity. Both versions can be seen on the Season 4 DVD set, along with an introduction from Jason Alexander explaining the existence of two sets of scenes for Frank Costanza.

I'm sorry, but I find this to be a silly question. You never see Kramer's friends Lomez and Bob Sacamano. You never see Jerry's cousin Jeffrey. They were mentioned more frequently and never seen. The number of people mentioned on the series and never seen is too large to list. It's all script filler.
Well this being usenet one expects a reply such as yours. I think your reply is both silly and stupid. Lomez and Sacamano would neither appear nor be mentioned at the Costanza Festivus gathering, however one of the Frank's and Estelle's children would at least be mentioned if not only as 'script filler'.
Ah yes. In "The Voice" Kramer's intern notes that Kramer was in a meeting with a Mr. Lomez. Bob Sacamano sounds like one of those names from The Sopranos.
